![]() The series' latest entry, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, is now available. If you're choosing between Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and its sequel, pick this one. Xenoblade Chronicles was a smart, forward-thinking JRPG with a first-class battle system when it was released on Wii, and it remains one of the best RPGs on the Switch. It remains the best entry in the series to date, featuring the strongest story without losing the sense of scope and freedom of the later games. ![]() Originally released on Wii in 2010, it received a comprehensive update in 2020 thanks to Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, which we called the "best version of Xenoblade Chronicles we've ever had." ![]() With a story from Xenogears director Tetsuya Takahashi and musical contributions from Yasunori Mitsuda, it forges a direct link to the days of classic PS1-era RPGs. Xenoblade Chronicles has a lot of history behind it. Release Date: Octo| Developer: Nintendo | Last position: 25 | IGN's Ring Fit Adventure Video Review | IGN's Ring Fit Adventure Wiki 24. Ring Fit Adventure also made our list of the best Nintendo Switch exclusives. It proves that exercising can be fun - especially whenF it’s thousands of dollars cheaper than hiring a personal trainer, too. Ring Fit Adventure fixes both of those problems by gamifying exercise and letting you work out from home while somehow making the entire experience feel like a fun, casual RPG.īy strapping the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con to your leg and with the strange, brilliant new Ring-Con peripheral, Ring Fit encourages you to use your whole body to battle monsters, collect coins, level up, and push past your personal bests - all while giving you a serious workout within the confines of your living room. If that doesn’t do it for you, there’s Super Metroid Randomizer, and then SMZ3 which combines Zelda and Metroid Randomizer for a truly insane experience.Sure, exercising is good for you, but it’s got two pretty big drawbacks: one, it costs a lot of money to join a gym and, two, it’s kind of boring. Keys in dungeons will be found in other dungeons. You can randomize the entrances so everything links to random locations. Once you get bored with relatively normal randomizations, you can go crazy. So you can race with your friends! Or help each other out and let you know where you find things. There’s a shortcode for every rom, so you can share around what the roms are (without sharing the rom directly). It basically turns the game into a Zelda Roguelike such as Cadence of Hyrule, except the game still slowly unravels like a Zelda game. The game totally changes how you can navigate everything. You need the Master Sword and translation book to use the emblem stones. You need the three pendants to unlock what would normally be the Master Sword. ![]() To deal with the dark world, you need to have the Magic Mirror and Moon Pearl (if you get trapped you can always save/quit to warp back to your house). ![]() Link to the Past really has a ton of locks and keys everywhere. (There’s also a bunch of helpful trackers help you find everything, which are definitely recommended). I do suggest watching a vod or race of a playthrough just so you get a sense of where a lot of the early chests are, because it can be a little daunting to explore the overworld looking for random chests at first. You can find the golden sword immediately and then struggle to find the bow and arrow. You load in the correct ROM into the randomizer, and it generates a randomized romhack to your specifications.Īll the chests and special items in the game are randomized in such a way that the game is always complete-able. It’s a lot of fun and I encourage people to check it out. Link to the Past Randomizer is a romhack of Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past. ![]()
